DAVE

From the Worn desk of yout 'EXE'

      (From the last Newsletter)

This is your past, EX, used-to-be

President. You missed a great event if you

were not at the Orlando reunion! The new

President (Bob Sweetwood) will introduce

himself on this Website. I congratulate him on

stepping forward and accepting the position.

All I can say is its been a pleasure serving and

representing both you, the membership, and

the Association, over these past years. It has

been a great ride! After meeting and talking

with the new President, I have full

confidence in him filling the position.

If you weren't at the Orlando

reunion, you missed the second largest we

have ever had! There was somewhere about

150 people there, so many coming and

going that it was hard to get an accurate

count. The theme for this reunion's              >  >

memorabilia was centered on the first

Squadron emblem the "Gunfighter". There

were 11 inch Teddy Bears dressed as pilots,

leather jackets and helmets, goggles and the

scarf with the emblem screen printed on one

side. Competition was high in getting one,

only 24 were given out. Each table at the

banquet had 1 each bottle of white and red

wine with the "Gunfighter" emblem labels.

All this was thanks to the host, Jan Stevens

who thought this up. Thankfully there were

no fights over the empty bottles or bears! SEE

TomTeddyBear ln Website Hpme Page!

Now it's onto the next reunion! Jerry

Henry , as some may know, has volunteered

to host a reunion in Nashville, Indiana, yes

Indiana. More to come on this later as times

and dates are decided on and fmalized with

the hotels. See you there, start planning

now!

During the banquet at the reunion, I

asked the members to write down 2 things

for the newsletter. They were the most

memorable experience they had while in the

319th and the other was why they came to

this reunion. The responses we got will

appear in this and future newsletters. Now I

ask you, who did not attend the reunion, to

send in your most memorable experience.

Please take a moment to do this, it will help

keep the newsletter alive. Send to either

Clarence Fry or me, Email or snail mail but

do it!

                     Thanks to All! The "ex"
