FROM THE DESK OF THE NEW PRESIDENT (In the Last Newsletter)
To say the least, I am humbled by the new position. To follow in the footsteps of Dave Headen who has served for II faithful years will be a challenge. I am still gathering infonnation and it will take a few months to get a handle on all that's going on and what needs to be done. Many of you have volunteered to help and that is gratefully appreciated. I am sure our goal is to keep the 319th FIS alive and well as long as possible. In my multiple squadrons and several different fighters, the 319th and the F -104 were by far my favorite squadron and aircraft. In my three tours in the F-I04 (one in TAC and 2 in ADC at Homestead) the memories of experiences and fellow servicemen were the highlights of my career Gust ask my wife and kids). I am originally from San Diego, CA where all my schooling took place and where I met my wife of 54 years. We are the proud parents of four boys and one girl, 15 grandchildren and 10 great- grandchildren. We have had the privilege of living in 5 different countries and 10 states and believe there is nothing better than the U.S.A. We now preside in Strawberry , AZ (look for a gray dot in the middle of AZ indicating a hamlet) and hopefully our moving days are over for now. My wife and I look forward to seeing you in Nashville, IN in 2009.
